My name is Alex Moy and I moved from England in 2001 to near Carcassonne in the South of France, where my wife is from. We have 4 children-all under 8.

After a long search for a piece of land, we eventually found a suitable site and many of the things on this website happened to us as we learned (sometimes the hard way!) how the whole thing worked.

Although it can be a very easy and smooth ride, there are many minor pitfalls to be considered. In fact we were not on the top of the list for the piece of land that we bought but the estate agent decided to let us have it - because my wife is French and the others were foreign!

I have worked selling properties for over 5 years now, and have helped investors purchase properties in France, Bulgaria, Croatia, Spain, Turkey, Montenegro and other countries. I have personally been to all these locations for purposes of my own due diligence. 

I continue to research the local markets and have access to: 

	properties in and off the market
	local contacts
	places where you can stay while researching houses and land
	contacts with bank, lawyers, construction companies, estate agents, and developers.
	new properties as they become available (before general release)

I also have a keen eye for good pieces of land and knowledge of emerging hotspots .
